Blazing Paddles is a competitive dragon boat racing team based in Broward County. Our team is made up of men and women of various ages, backgrounds and fitness levels. We love to have fun, work hard and win races! Dragon boating is quickly becoming the world’s fastest-growing water sport for two reasons: it is fun and a great workout for core, cardio and all-around fitness. We are actively recruiting new members. In addition to practices, the team also gets together for various activities such as canoeing, cycling, adventure racing, bowling, going to the movies, etc.
NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED – just a great attitude and a willingness to have fun! Most of our members had little to no paddling experience before they joined us. We can teach you all you need to know and help you get into great shape. We supply the paddles and life vests; all you need to bring is water and sunscreen (as needed).
We practice three times per week at Holland Park in Hollywood, just east of US1. Please check our website, www.PaddleOrBePaddled.org, for exact days and times.
